Overview Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth

The Ministry was established after the Royal Decree No. (120/2004) that stated issuing a ministry concerned of the sports affairs. The Ministry derived its vision from this inspiration towards the establishment of a sport system that utilizes the human and technical resources in the best way to ensure providing sports for every member of the society. The Ministry also working on providing sports services and facilities of quality through activating means of communication, marketing and cooperation as well as supporting the athletes and creating new connections with the sport-related entities.

“Aiming at providing sport services and facilities of quality for the individuals interested in sports, as well as supporting the athletes and clubs’ members, and activating the different aspects of communication, marketing , development, and cooperation with other related entities.”

Goals

Ministry of Sports Affairs is aiming at leading the Omani society to be a sport-interested society through its main 3 areas:

1. Sport for all: Towards a healthy community.
2. Team sports: Uplifting the Sultanate regionally and internationally.
3. Sports and Development: A step forward to an inclusive development.

Objectives

The Ministry of Sports Affairs is aiming at:

1. Supervising and following up with related entities working in the sports field.
2. Co-ordinate and co-operate with other government entities in the sports field.
3. Implement sports facilities services.
